2014 Spyderco Manix2 CPM Cru-Wear Sprint Knife

The 2014 Spyderco Manix2 Sprint features the supercharged CPM Cru-Wear blade steel.

The high performance CPM® CRU-WEAR® steel is an air-hardened powdered metallurgy tool steel. Crucible's original smelted-produced CRU-WEAR® was created as an upgrade to A2 and D2 tool steels, both have earned longevity and respect in the cutlery business for their wear resistance and tough cutting performance.

The powder produced CPM® CRU-WEAR® blade steel offers even greater wear resistance and toughness than A2, D2 and M2. Through powdered steel technology, the steel is made easier to machine with improved resistance to chipping over the original smelted CRU-WEAR®. The powdered variety also attains a higher hardness factor through greater percentages of tungsten and molybdenum that result in a secondary hardening response.

Another unique feature of the Manix 2 Sprint if it's gray diamond pattern G10 handle scales. G-10 is extremely durable and the fine checkered texturing provides an excellent grip while the handsome diamond pattern clearly sets this knife apart from standard production versions of the Manix2 which enhances it's status as both a functional tool and a highly prized collector's item.

The Cru-Wear Manix is a limited edition sprint run and it is only available while supplies last!

1st Knife Ever with CPM Cru-Wear Blade: Spyderco Cru-Wear Mili

The 2013 Spyderco Military Cru-Wear Sprint Run knife is the first ever knife to feature Crucible's new red-hot CPM® CRU-WEAR® blade steel!  The "Cruwear Mili Sprintfeatures the conventional Military Model PlainEdge blade-profile with a flat-grind and an oversized round blade hole for quick deployment and even when wearing gloves.

The slim and ergonomic handle scales are peel ply gray G-10 with a nested Michael Walker LinerLock inlaid directly into the scale, which reinforces the lock strength without the adding the bulkiness and weight of full-length internal liners.  Spacers between the scales create a gap running the handle's full length exposing the inside workings for inspection and cleaning.
The handle is slightly flared at both the front and rear and machined onto the blade’s spine and choil are sections of jimping both of which restrain the knife from slipping forward or backward when forcefully cutting or sawing.  Spyderco's jimping is second to none when it comes to providing a comfortable, non-slip grip that gives the user confidence and control over the extremely sharp blade.
A contoured black metal pocket clip is mounted on the forward end for right-hand tip-down carry. Unfortunately the clip is not mountable in any other positions so it is intended primarily as a right hand knife.
The high performance CPM® CRU-WEAR® steel is an air-hardened powdered metallurgy tool steel. Crucible’s original smelted-produced CRU-WEAR® was created as an upgrade to A2 and D2 tool steels, both have earned longevity and respect in the cutlery business for their wear resistance and tough cutting performance.
The Cru-Wear Mili is a 1200 piece sprint run!  The rumor has it that Sal Glesser, because of the demand for this knife, upped the production from 1200 to possible 1500-1800 pieces.  This info is not confirmed but most likely true.  If you want one my advise is to act quickly and not let the grass grow under your feet as these will quickly be grabbed up by collectors and a few fortunate knife fans.

2013 Spyderco Endura Damascus Sprint

The Endura Damascus is the most elegant folder made by Spyderco knives.  This 2013 Sprint Run Endura features beautiful orange jigged-bone handle scales, anodized titanium bolsters and a PlainEdge Japanese VG-10 Damascus blade.  It is innovative and classy!
A state-of-the-art cobalt stainless steel, VG-10 takes a highly retentive cutting edge. The steel is produced through a process of stacking layers of erosive and non-erosive material over a VG-10 core center. The erosive layers are hard martensite stainless steel and the non-erosive layers are anti-corrosion nonferrous metal. These layers block carbon particles in the core from spreading to the outer layers. After layering the blade is forged to intentionally distort the layer-lines making a complicated, artistically beautiful pattern called Suminagashi. Suminagashi is the traditional Japanese art form of creating ripples of Chinese ink on the surface of water. This steel mimics the art form with interesting results on a knife blade. Once the layers are distorted, the blade is bathed in acid etching the pattern to vivid relief. The result is an elegant swirled pattern steel that is superbly functional and highly attractive.
The folder features titanium bolsters nicely complementing the orange-colored jigged-bone handle scales. Mid-positioned on the knife's spine is a back lock featuring a cut-away David Boye Dent for added safely and a piped lanyard easily accepts a thong or cord for secondary attachment.
A dressy option for every Endura lover, it performs and feels like an old favorite but looks more like a custom piece and is guaranteed to be noticed.

The C10JBOP is clipless and comes in a padded zipper pouch.
Specifications:

  • Length Overall: 8.75" (222 mm)
  • Length Closed: 4.88" (124 mm)
  • Hole Diameter: .53" (13 mm)
  • Blade Length: 3.86" (98 mm)

Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 21 Tamboti Wood

The Sebenza 21's are available in many variations. The models with wood inlays are highly sought after and we are pleased to have just received a shipment of the very special Sebenza 21 with Tamboti wood inlays just in time for Christmas.

The folding knife that has become the yardstick against which others are compared, the Sebenza has earned a worldwide reputation for rock solid performance and a “bank vault” feel. Chris developed the first Sebenza in 1987 and the profile has experienced minor changes over the years. After the entirely handmade version came the Original profile in 1990, the Regular in 1996 and the Classic in 2000. 2008 is the 21st year of the Sebenza and to celebrate, Chris Reeve has introduced the Sebenza 21—an updated version of the classic, that is easier to insert into a pocket or pouch. The beefy frame lock ensures the knife is like a fixed blade when it's open. Despite the rock solid feel the action is smooth and it's easy to operate. Both comfortable and elegant the Sebenza line is a must have for any knife enthusiast.
